It has been exactly 43 long years since Ex-Beatle John Lennon died in New York on December 8, 1980 at the age of 40. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed singers of his generation.

Born in Liverpool on October 9, 1940, John Lennon's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in British history. Lennon was not just a great singer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1969 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Give Peace a Chance’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
