Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Kathryn Bigelow, 74, and her partner had split up. Is the director best known for the movie The Hurt Locker really single again?

Bigelow spotted alone

A fan spotted Kathryn Bigelow walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of May 1, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Kathryn back on the market?

A rep for Kathryn Bigelow was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the director was splitting hit the internet Saturday (May 2), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
