Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Katie Melua, 39, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for hit songs like Nine Million Bicycles, The Closest Thing to Crazy or Just Like Heaven really single again?

Melua spotted alone

A fan spotted Katie Melua walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of April 18, 2024. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Katie back on the market?

A rep for Katie Melua was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Friday (April 19), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
