It has been exactly one year since Laurence Badie died on January 11, 2024 at the age of 89. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation.

Badie, a cultural icon
Born Laurence Dolores Badie-Lopes in Boulogne-Billancourt on June 15, 1934, her career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Badie was not just a great actress, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1952 she touched the hearts of millions as Berthe Dollé in ‘Forbidden Games’. Her legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique heritage.
It's been one year since the tragic loss of Laurence Badie and her personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Laurence Badie is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
