Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Lea Thompson, 64, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her role in Back to the Future really single again?

Thompson spotted alone

A fan spotted Lea Thompson walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 31, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Lea back on the market?

A rep for Lea Thompson was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Sunday (February 1), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
