Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Lila Downs, 57, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her album Border really single again?

Downs spotted alone

A fan spotted Lila Downs walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 29, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Lila back on the market?

A rep for Lila Downs was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Friday (January 30), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
