Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Loretta Lynn, 90, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for hit songs like The Pill, Coal Miner's Daughter or Fist City really single again?

Lynn spotted alone

A fan spotted Loretta Lynn walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 16, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Loretta back on the market?

A rep for Loretta Lynn was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Saturday (January 17), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
