It has been exactly one year since Loretta Swit died in New York on May 30, 2025 at the age of 87. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation.

Born Loretta Jane Swit in Passaic on November 4, 1937, her career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Swit was not just a great actress, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
