Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Mae Jemison, 69, and her partner had split up. Is the American astronaut really single again?

Jemison spotted alone

A fan spotted Mae Jemison walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of May 1, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Mae back on the market?

A rep for Mae Jemison was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the astronaut was splitting hit the internet Saturday (May 2), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
