Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Mamie Gummer, 42, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her role on the television series Emily Owens, M.D. really single again?

Gummer spotted alone

A fan spotted Mamie Gummer walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 8, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Mamie back on the market?

A rep for Mamie Gummer was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Friday (January 9), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
