It has been exactly 3 long years since Maradona died in Dique Luján on November 25, 2020 at the age of 60. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed footballers of his generation.

Today, fans of Maradona along with the rest of the sports world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Maradona, a cultural icon

Born Diego Armando Maradona in Lanús on October 30, 1960, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in Argentine history. Maradona was not just a great footballer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.

It's been 3 years since the tragic loss of Maradona and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Maradona is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
