Is the 67-year-old actress officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Mare Winningham, 67, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Hatfields & McCoys, Turner & Hooch or St. Elmo's Fire really single again?

Winningham spotted alone

A fan spotted Mare Winningham walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of May 21, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Mare back on the market?

A rep for Mare Winningham was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Friday (May 22), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
