Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Maria Rita, 46, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for albums like Redescobrir, Samba Meu, Segundo or Maria Rita really single again?

Maria Rita spotted alone

A fan spotted Maria Rita walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of April 17, 2024. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Maria Rita back on the market?

A rep for Maria Rita was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Thursday (April 18), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
