Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Marilyn McCoo, 82, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her hit song You Don't Have to Be a Star really single again?

McCoo spotted alone

A fan spotted Marilyn McCoo walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 9, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Marilyn back on the market?

A rep for Marilyn McCoo was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Saturday (January 10), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
