Remembering Marilyn Monroe, 62 Years Later

It has been exactly 62 long years since Marilyn Monroe died in Los Angeles on August 5, 1962 at the age of 36. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation.

Today, fans of Marilyn Monroe (Some Like It Hot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, ...) along with the rest of the film industry have been remembering the iconic woman she was.

Monroe, a cultural icon

Born in Los Angeles on June 1, 1926, Marilyn Monroe's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Monroe was not just a great actress, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1959 she touched the hearts of millions as Sugar Kane in ‘Some Like It Hot’. Her legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique heritage.

It's been 62 years since the tragic loss of Marilyn Monroe and her personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Marilyn Monroe is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
