Is the 56-year-old cartoonist officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Marjane Satrapi, 56, and her partner had split up. Is the cartoonist best known for the movie Persepolis really single again?

Satrapi spotted alone

A fan spotted Marjane Satrapi walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of February 3, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Marjane back on the market?

A rep for Marjane Satrapi was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the cartoonist was splitting hit the internet Wednesday (February 4), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
