Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Maureen McGovern, 76, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her hit song The Morning After really single again?

McGovern spotted alone

A fan spotted Maureen McGovern walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of February 25, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Maureen back on the market?

A rep for Maureen McGovern was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Thursday (February 26), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
