Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Melinda Gates, 61, and her partner had split up. Is the Bill Gates' wife really single again?

Gates spotted alone

A fan spotted Melinda Gates walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of March 18, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Melinda back on the market?

A rep for Melinda Gates was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the business woman was splitting hit the internet Thursday (March 19), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
