Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Merrill Markoe, 77, and her partner had split up. Is the author of the Psycho Ex Game and What the Dogs Have Taught Me really single again?

Markoe spotted alone

A fan spotted Merrill Markoe walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 27, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Merrill back on the market?

A rep for Merrill Markoe was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the author was splitting hit the internet Wednesday (January 28), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
