Remembering Mike Nichols on the 11st Anniversary of his death

It has been exactly 11 long years since Mike Nichols died in New York on November 19, 2014 at the age of 83. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed directors of his generation.

Today, fans of Mike Nichols (Closer, The Graduate, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, ...) along with the rest of the film industry have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Nichols, a cultural icon

Born Michael Igor Peschkowsky in Berlin on November 6, 1931, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Nichols was not just a great director, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.

It's been 11 years since the tragic loss of Mike Nichols and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Mike Nichols is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
