Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Mindy Kaling, 46, and her partner had split up. Is the creator of The Mindy Project really single again?

Kaling spotted alone

A fan spotted Mindy Kaling walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 30, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Mindy back on the market?

A rep for Mindy Kaling was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Saturday (January 31), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
