Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Missy Elliott, 55, and her partner had split up. Is the rapper best known for hit songs like Lose Control, Work It or Get Ur Freak On really single again?

Elliott spotted alone

A fan spotted Missy Elliott walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of September 14, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Missy back on the market?

A rep for Missy Elliott was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the rapper was splitting hit the internet Tuesday (September 15), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
