It has been exactly 9 long years since Omar Sharif died in Cairo on July 10, 2015 at the age of 83. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

In 1962 he touched the hearts of millions as Sherif Ali ibn el Kharish in ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
