It has been exactly 9 long years since Oscar de la Renta died in Kent on October 20, 2014 at the age of 82. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed fashion designers of his generation.

Today, fans of Oscar de la Renta along with the rest of the fashion world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

de la Renta, a cultural icon

Born Óscar Aristides de la Renta Fiallo in Santo Domingo on July 22, 1932, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in Dominican history. de la Renta was not just a great fashion designer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
