It has been exactly one year since Patrice Laffont died on August 7, 2024 at the age of 83. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed television hosts of his generation.

Born in Marseille on August 21, 1940, Patrice Laffont's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Laffont was not just a great television host, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
It's been one year since the tragic loss of Patrice Laffont and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Patrice Laffont is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
