Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Patti LaBelle, 81, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her hit song Lady Marmalade really single again?

LaBelle spotted alone

A fan spotted Patti LaBelle walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 12, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Patti back on the market?

A rep for Patti LaBelle was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Tuesday (January 13), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
