Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Penélope Cruz, 52, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Volver or Vanilla Sky really single again?

Cruz spotted alone

A fan spotted Penélope Cruz walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of October 23, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Penélope back on the market?

A rep for Penélope Cruz was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress - known for having been romantically involved with Matthew McConaughey or Tom Cruise - was splitting hit the internet Saturday (October 24), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
