Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Penny Johnson Jerald, 64, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Castle or 24 really single again?

Jerald spotted alone

A fan spotted Penny Johnson Jerald walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 14, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Penny Johnson back on the market?

A rep for Penny Johnson Jerald was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Thursday (January 15), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
