Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Petula Clark, 93, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her hit song Downtown really single again?

Clark spotted alone

A fan spotted Petula Clark walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of March 17, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Petula back on the market?

A rep for Petula Clark was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Wednesday (March 18), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
