Philippe Labro died in Paris on June 4, 2025 at the age of 88. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed authors of his generation.

Born in Montauban on August 27, 1936, Philippe Labro's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Labro was not just a great author, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
His legacy will continue to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
Although Philippe Labro is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
