Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Preta Gil, 51, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for albums like Sou como Sou, Noite Preta ao Vivo or Prêt-à Porter really single again?

Gil spotted alone
A fan spotted Preta Gil walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 13, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”
Is Preta back on the market?
A rep for Preta Gil was not immediately available for comment.
Truth or rumor, when news that the singer - known for having been romantically involved with Marcos Mion or Paulo Vilhena - was splitting hit the internet Wednesday (January 14), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
