It has been exactly 8 long years since Prince died in Chanhassen on April 21, 2016 at the age of 57. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed musicians of his generation.
Today, fans of Prince (Batman, Kiss, Purple Rain, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.
Prince, a cultural icon
Born Prince Rogers Nelson in Minneapolis on June 7, 1958, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Prince was not just a great musician, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1984 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Purple Rain’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
It's been 8 years since the tragic loss of Prince and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Prince is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
