It has been exactly one year since Ray Liotta died on May 26, 2022 at the age of 67. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Liotta, a cultural icon

Born Raymond Allen Liotta in Newark on December 18, 1954, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Liotta was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1989 he touched the hearts of millions as Shoeless Joe Jackson in ‘Field of Dreams’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
