Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Régine Deforges, 90, and her partner had split up. Is the author of La Bicyclette bleue really single again?

Deforges spotted alone

A fan spotted Régine Deforges walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 14, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Régine back on the market?

A rep for Régine Deforges was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the author was splitting hit the internet Thursday (January 15), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
