Ryan O'Neal died in Los Angeles on December 8, 2023 at the age of 82. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

O'Neal, a cultural icon
Born Charles Patrick Ryan O'Neal, Jr. in Los Angeles on April 20, 1941, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. O'Neal was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 2005 he touched the hearts of millions as Matthew Brennan in ‘Bones’. His legacy will continue to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
Although Ryan O'Neal is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
