Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Sara Canning, 38, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her role on the television series The Vampire Diaries really single again?

Canning spotted alone

A fan spotted Sara Canning walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of May 15, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Sara back on the market?

A rep for Sara Canning was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Saturday (May 16), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
