Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Sarah Lancashire, 61, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Last Tango in Halifax or Wuthering Heights really single again?

Lancashire spotted alone

A fan spotted Sarah Lancashire walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of April 25, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Sarah back on the market?

A rep for Sarah Lancashire was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Sunday (April 26), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
