Is the former French Ecology Minister officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Ségolène Royal, 72, and her partner had split up. Is the former French Ecology Minister really single again?

Royal spotted alone

A fan spotted Ségolène Royal walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of December 21, 2025. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Ségolène back on the market?

A rep for Ségolène Royal was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the politician - known for having been romantically involved with François Hollande - was splitting hit the internet Monday (December 22), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
