Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Sophie Ellis-Bextor, 46, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her album Read My Lips really single again?

Ellis-Bextor spotted alone

A fan spotted Sophie Ellis-Bextor walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 13, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Sophie back on the market?

A rep for Sophie Ellis-Bextor was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Wednesday (January 14), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
