Is the 59-year-old actress officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Sophie Marceau, 59, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Braveheart, Revenge of the Musketeers, Fanfan or Ready for Love really single again?

Marceau spotted alone

A fan spotted Sophie Marceau walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 9, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Sophie back on the market?

A rep for Sophie Marceau was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress - known for having been romantically involved with Jim Lemley, Andrzej Żuławski or Christopher Lambert - was splitting hit the internet Saturday (January 10), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
