Sylvain Augier died in Lecques on March 16, 2024 at the age of 68. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed journalists of his generation.

Augier, a cultural icon

Born in Toulouse on May 7, 1955, Sylvain Augier's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Augier was not just a great journalist, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

His legacy will continue to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.

Although Sylvain Augier is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
