It has been exactly 8 long years since Sylvie Joly died in Paris on September 4, 2015 at the age of 80. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed comediennes of her generation.

Born in Paris on October 18, 1934, Sylvie Joly's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Joly was not just a great comedienne, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1987 she touched the hearts of millions as Mrs. Fox Terrier in ‘The Miracle’. Her legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique heritage.
