Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Taylor Swift, 36, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for hit songs like You Belong with Me or Love Story really single again?

Swift spotted alone

A fan spotted Taylor Swift walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 29, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Taylor back on the market?

A rep for Taylor Swift was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer - known for having been romantically involved with Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner, Lucas Till, Joe Jonas or John Mayer - was splitting hit the internet Friday (January 30), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
