It has been exactly 34 long years since Creedence Clearwater Revival guitarist Tom Fogerty died in Scottsdale on September 6, 1990 at the age of 48. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed musicians of his generation.

Today, fans of Tom Fogerty along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Fogerty, a cultural icon

Born in Berkeley on November 9, 1941, Tom Fogerty's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Fogerty was not just a great musician, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
