Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Valérie Pécresse, 58, and her partner had split up. Is the former French Minister of Budget really single again?

Pécresse spotted alone

A fan spotted Valérie Pécresse walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 11, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Valérie back on the market?

A rep for Valérie Pécresse was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the politician was splitting hit the internet Monday (January 12), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
