It has been exactly 58 long years since ‘Mickey Mouse’ creator Walt Disney died in Burbank on December 15, 1966 at the age of 65. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed producers of his generation.

Today, fans of Walt Disney along with the rest of the world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Disney, a cultural icon

Born Walter Elias Disney in Hermosa on December 5, 1901, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Disney was not just a great producer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
