Break-Up Rumors, Is Yayoi Kusama Single Again?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Yayoi Kusama, 97, and her partner had split up. Is the Japanese artist really single again?

Kusama spotted alone

A fan spotted Yayoi Kusama walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of March 20, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Yayoi back on the market?

A rep for Yayoi Kusama was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the artist was splitting hit the internet Saturday (March 21), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
