Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Zoya Akhtar, 52, and her partner had split up. Is the director best known for You Don't Get Life a Second Time or Luck by Chance really single again?

Akhtar spotted alone

A fan spotted Zoya Akhtar walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of March 16, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Zoya back on the market?

A rep for Zoya Akhtar was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the director was splitting hit the internet Tuesday (March 17), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
