Is the 67-year-old actress officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Annette Bening, 67, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Ruby Sparks, The Kids Are All Right, Being Julia or American Beauty really single again?

Bening spotted alone

A fan spotted Annette Bening walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 14, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Annette back on the market?

A rep for Annette Bening was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Thursday (January 15), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
