Is the 78-year-old actress officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Barbara Hershey, 78, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Black Swan or Hannah and Her Sisters really single again?

Hershey spotted alone

A fan spotted Barbara Hershey walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of October 23, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Barbara back on the market?

A rep for Barbara Hershey was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress - known for having been romantically involved with Sean Penn - was splitting hit the internet Saturday (October 24), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
